I Love Pierre Herme Macarons!!!! I believe for die hard macarons lovers, you will know this name! I had my first bite of heaven in Paris. Immediately I fell deeply in love with these rich tasting, melt in your mouth macrons by Pierre Herme.....
Pierre Herme macarons are airy cookies of egg-white and almond flour, sandwiching a cream filling. His macarons fillings are rich in flavor and he combines interesting flavors together and uses creative names for the macarons; for example; Eden - is made with peach, apricot and saffron.

Therefore when my boy friend went to the Black Forest in Germany and he saw these Pierre Hermes macarons, he just had to bring them back for me...I was really surprised and touched when I opened the container. Who would have thought that you can get these macarons in Germany!...Well to be exact, he went to Germany and got these on a day trip to Strasbourg....
Yes yes, and it is my favorite!! He bought them from the Galeries Lafayette branch in Strasbourg. They had endured hours of journeying (1.5 hours from Strasbourg to the Black Forest, 3.5 hours from there to Munich, and then 13 hours to Singapore!!) to reach my happy mouth! =)
I would say that there was a slight difference in the taste of the macaron after hours of flight....but it is still the best macaron I have ever eaten....melt in your mouth with exploding rich porcelana chocolate + the thought of the person who brought it back for me.....makes this macaron PERFECT !

Pierre Herme began his career at the age of 14 as an apprentice in Paris. At age 24, he became the pastry chef at the fine food merchant Fauchon for 11 years. In 1997, he was involved with the expansion of Laduree. In 1998, he started his own brand name Pierre Herme Paris in Tokyo's New Otani Hotel, followed in July 2000 in Tokyo Disneyland shopping area. His Paris boutique opened in 2002, at 72 rue Bonaparte in Saint Germain des Pres. In 2004, he opened a second one at 185 rue de Vaugirad.
